About Street Child
Street Child is a UK-based non-governmental organisation with a sustained, high-impact presence in twenty-one countries. We aim to ensure that every child can go to school, get a quality education, and be safe. For over a decade, Street Child has been working in some of the world's most challenging places in Africa and Asia to ensure that every child has the right to a recognised education. To date we have significantly transformed the lives of more than 860,400 children, and we are committed to supporting one million more by 2025.
Our key areas of expertise include education and child protection, children in emergencies, family empowerment and local leadership (localisation). As much as we support governments to provide free, quality education and a secure future for all children, including and prioritising the most vulnerable including those street-connected, minority groups, etc., we also help communities to take ownership of these goals for a truly sustainable impact.
AET’s commitment to Safeguarding
As part of Street Child, AET is committed to the safeguarding and protection of the communities we serve, our partners, our volunteers, and our staff.
As part of this commitment to safeguarding, all offers of employment will be subject to satisfactory references and appropriate background checks. Street Child also participates in the Inter Agency Misconduct Disclosure Scheme. In line with this Scheme, we will request information from job applicants’ previous employers about any findings of sexual exploitation, sexual abuse and/or sexual harassment during employment, or incidents under investigation when the applicant left employment.
